I've recently redone my site. I'd like to get honest opinions from a design standpoint and seo standpoint. Thanks.

New Design:

Old (current) Design:
http://www.collegecolosseum.com

EDIT: here is another new design which uses the color scheme from the old (current) design: http://img263.imageshack.us/img263/6...st2copysb1.jpg

Definitely much better. When I think of the Colosseum I don't think of really bright colors like the current design. I would think of more earthy colors like the new one. Definitely change it

It's much better. Both the arrangement and the color scheme.

The current layout is better from a design standpoint, that's for sure. It's crisper and sharper. The one thing I would change are the spots where you have dark text on a dark background. It's too hard to see/read.

The SEO will be impossible to evaluate, since all you've got is a JPG and since a number of issues that you have with the existing site (session hashes, etc.) can't be easily determined from a JPG as a result.

definitely an improvement on the last but still a lot of work needed, the colors are a bit dull and nothing catches the eye, the design is simple but a lot of things seem out of place, i'd look at getting a bit more proportion with the content areas and change the way the footer looks

Adam I just want to make sure I understand. You think the current theme, blue and yellow is a better design then the image I posted?

I will work on coming up with a better color scheme.

Current Design:

COLORS! At least protect your visitors eyes!

Design 4/10
SEO 5/10

New Design:

I'm going to be critical. It is an improvement colorwise. However my criticisms are the blatant signs of Photoshopped design. Whenever someone just slaps on a default drop shadow/stroke effect or whatever it makes the image look so much more amatuer. Most people do not use Photoshop or Web Design that'll view your site I'm guessing so it should be ok for the purpose though I'd recommend from a professional point of view changing the look of the navigation.

I'd also recommend changing that large semi-transparent image in the right of the header because it is rather pixelated.

Be careful with the coloring of the black on dark gray.

What's going on with the footer?

Design: 5/10
SEO: N/A - how can we input on that from an image?

I figured I would post this updated template.

It uses the old color scheme.

Thoughts? http://img263.imageshack.us/img263/6...st2copysb1.jpg

As my eyes follow the page down, the header looks like its from a different world compared to that block where that big image and login is...

Actually, I meant the JPG was better. My bad. I like the new one. I counted that as "current" because it was the most recent thing I'd seen.

The blue and yellow one is ugly.

My advice is only on a SEO stand point:

1 there is no title tag
2 no description tag
3 no meta Keywords
4 No heading

But...but it's a badly SEOed screenshot. Don't you put meta description tags in YOUR JPGs, Hirst? Yeah, give this guy a break.
