Hi,
I only got my site on line about a week ago and still working on it.
The site is linked with my hobbie as a radio ham.
Its my first try at building a site, I am using Dreamweaver.

I have a lot things to sort out when I work out where to ask the
questions to sort them, I will.

I look forward to your advice and mickey taking

Well I like that your site's inspiration came from the fact that it is your hobby. I'm not really sure what it is I'm suppose to be looking for or at on the site. I guess if it was my hobby I would "get it."

I know you're doing the design yourself-so I hope you don't take this personal; but I think the design needs some help. Maybe it would look nicer if you used a blog platform like WP to make it. It would give you an opportunity to do some articles about the history of ham radios, how to get into the hobby, what equipment (cost) you need, do reviews of your favorite stations and do some explaining for us folks that are uninitiated.

Kudos for doing a website about something you like and not jumping on the money making bandwagon and adding another SEO or PPC site to the internet.

I agree

The design looks old frontpage'ish, and needs some help. Perhaps you should read up on some html/css guides and learn to tidy your work up a bit. I wouldnt be opposed to using a wordpress or other blog platform as they can be really successful if one right.

Add some type of intro, upon visitng your site I had no Idea what it was about, or what to look for.

Keep up the hobby work, it can turn into something amazing.

I suggest:
1. You get a template for consistency, there are plenty of free ones
2. Centred body text looks awful
3. Stick to black and white fonts, both for aesthetic and accessibility issues
4. Don't put anything on your site that has a link back
- Scrap the counter, and get Google Analytics or something like it
5. Correct the multiple spelling and grammatical errors
6. Why is the images link purple?
7. You need to explain the Clacton bit more (I am from Colchester myself)
8. Too many colours, 8 font colours on the front page alone, and then the changing backgrounds......
9. Do something different with the Amateur Radio Ring - play it up more, or play it down, and whatever you do, incorporate it better.
10. I think you should get some proper hosting, they can start at £20/ year

I know it looks like a long list, but the site has a good idea, and it's a shame to waste it. Don't think that by using 12 lines on the site's bad points, and three on its good ones means the site is that bad - it isn't.

I agree with the other posters, the 'idea' of the site is superb.

For the design : I'd suggest going to www.w3schools.com , you can learn alot there. Also, if you have the money and time try to get a book on html/css if you can it will help alot.

Good luck and go ham radios!

Interesting concept but it's still a bit of a site for the people in the know. For someone coming to it for the first time it's still a little confusing. I'd reset the text on the home page, there's a big gap there and the text looks disorganized the way it's layed out.
