Site has been online for a few months now. I am getting some traffic but have only made one sale. Any likes/dislikes/suggestions/advice would be appreciated.

Thank you,

It is very difficult to be unique when your site created by eBay template.
Get someone to develop your site for you and to make it more personal

I agree with fastreplies about personalizing your site. Having a unique site is part of standing out from the crowd and getting noticed.

Separate images should be created for thumbnails with smaller dimensions to avoid the distortion of the picture making the quality very poor. Also, make the dimensions of all of the thumbnails the same size. This will help with uniformity as it seems your cell height is in direct relation.

logo is a preference thing but I have to tell you that I think you can do better. A logo defines a company. Your company specializes in baby needs, so why the puzzle? Babies can't do puzzles. I don't mean that in a rude way at all and hope it didn't come out that way but as a designer these are the things I pay attention to.

I would recommend getting a new logo and then having your site re-designed accordingly with the new colour scheme of the logo.

Good luck with your site.

you're a bit late as my twins are already 1½

where you have 'our products include infant sleep positioners, baby sleep pillows...' then link to the relevant page from those products so i don't have to go and find them!

you've got a couple of spelling mistakes in there too

don't underline anything that's not a link

your logo is naff -you should try and get another!

otherwise it's ok

i was going to look further but your site is just stalling at the moment for some reason (not my connection)

If it's your business then you should employ a web designer to have another go. It's just not up to scratch at the moment. Template is DATED, all sorts of bad technique - words underlined that aren't links etc.
Give your business the public face it deserves and pay a professional to do it.

I agree, ripping off amazons design is really not the way forward, if your short on budget use a template site and buy something. I wouldnt buy anything on a site which has a ripped design.

Thank you everyone for the comments.

The site template is from the ecommerce program that I purchased (my ebiz) (wysiwyg editor) I wasn't aware that it was an ebay or amazon template. I will probably cancel and purchase regular hosting instead.

Gx3 - As per your comments. I will be changing my logo and adding thumbnails for my images. I agree that that would help a bit, I guess I just needed someone to tell me that. Does anyone know of any free programs for creating thumbnails or creating logos?

davemies: Perhaps it's me but I am missing the spelling mistakes. If you could point them out I'd appreciate it. Never was the best at spelling

I haven't tried any local advertising as of yet, just on the web. I will begin to advertise locally when I am proud of my site

Thanks again all, your help is appreciated.

This is a very good idea. First impressions are everything

There are plenty of free logo making sites but you can't set yourself apart and create an identity for yourself using a cookie cutter copy of something someone else might already have.

I sent you a pm.

'comfortable' is one mistake (a few times)

'our baby sleeping on it's back' should be 'its'

all in the first section - i didn't see any others, yet

The design is one thing that can definitely be improved on. One thing I think you should do is invest in a 1-800 number and add this is BIG BOLD letter in the top right-hand corner of your website. TRUST is a big issue on the internet and I wouldn't trust your website because I never heard of it. Also, add your website to a few shopping directories so people can review your products and website. Another thing you could do is invest some money to startup an Ebay store. After you earn a good reputation on Ebay, add the link to your Ebay store on your website. This will also help out with the trust issue.

Having a good logo is sooooo important to a successful business....at least thats what I have heard. Don't use any online logo maker services as you will be unhappy with the result. Trust me, I went down that path before and it flushed $50 down the toilet! Go to Elance.com or Scriptlance.com and have people bid on your logo. My logo only cost me $85 bucks (on elance.com) and it was done by the same guy who designed the PGA Asia tour logo. Scriptlance.com is great for webdesigners and programmers on the cheap. Good luck and if any babies I don't know about show up one day I will have to check out your website again!

Thank you everyone for all of the input. I am working on getting a better logo, and fixed some of the mispelling/link issues mentioned. I am also looking into getting a toll-free number. If anyone has any providers to recommend I would be happy to listen.

I have decided to get different hosting than my ebiz. They're "ubuilder" isn't as easy to work with as I thought, and doing any kind of SEO is extremely difficult. I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for web hosting.

Thanks again all for your help.

Another idea I had was getting an SSL certificate
