First we released a version that was quite different from this one. After the feedback we got from different sites, we decided to listen to the many good suggestions, and redo some parts of the site.

As you can see and imagen, we've not put alot of energy on a perfect design.. instead we chose to focus on functionality. A new design will most likely be released with the none beta version..

so, visit http://www.gymgate.com and hit me with the hard truth.

well.. the address to my page is not gimgate.com... it's gymgate. I've checked my code, and I dont use anything named md2.png. The logical conclusion is that it's google maps that's bugging... if you use older webbrowsers with an old script engines, the google map does'nt work that well.

Well, I don`t really see much on your website... I might be blind ... but I only see a map, a searchbar, and two messege forms ... allthough what I see it works fast and good, but yet I don`t understand the usage of a website like this... It`s online my oppinion and I might be wrong ... ... but...

I think you might want to add more metatags(like more keywords and a title...etc.) and if I were you I would move the javascript to a separete file .js and make only a reffering in the main html to the .js file ...

I like the idea with the map, I myself do see the mini houses, I'm not keen on the contact or bug reporting forms that pop up in a javascript dialog but that's simply preference.

The concept of the purpose being the location of gyms worldwide being houses on one page I do like. The only problem that could arise is if the number of entries increases meaning cosmetic overload.

Nice

Yeah, I've thought about what's going to happen if there's suddenly 1000 gyms. I've developed a function with the help of google maps API documentation that allowes the map to display markers in layers.

This means, if you zoom to level 15 (10 houses will be displayed), level 10 (50 houses), level 5 (100 houses) and so on and so on...

Though, the function is a little smarter then that, because it first senses how many markers (houses) are in that specific area (operating by coordinates), and at the appropriate zoom level, displays the right amount of houses accoringly to the amount of coordinates in the database...

hmm I suck at explaning... oh well.

works fine here on firefox, but the map is too big: i had to scroll down to see everything.. the famfamfam icons don't fit with the rest of your design and the logo is a little bit weak. the site should look better with these recommendations, grtz
