A bit unusual, because I'm playing upon my new toy: a PHP library to render sites using XML + XSL.

What I'm in need now, is to find which browsers on which platforms can display XML+XSL, and which cannot (meaning that I must do the transformation on the server).

You can help, just by visiting this url:
http://dating.webalis.com
and telling me here if you saw an XML file, or a web page and which was your browser.

You should see something like this if it works:

And like this if it doesn't:

So far, I've tested it on Firefox, IE6, IE7, opera 9, safari3 PC and safari2 MAC.
I'm just unsure about Safari, as I have a developer edition of OSX, and I've heard that peoples with non-developer versions cannot do this transformation in the browser.
Safari PC being a developement version, it include this capability (for the moment at least)

Thank you all for your precious inputs.
Thierry.

It works fine for me in FF, but in IE7, I get neither. All that comes up is a blank white screen, no login, no code, nothing.

EDIT: It looks like John and I were posting at the same time, we both get the same results.

Works in Firefox for Mac (OS X 10.4).

Safari 3 (on Mac) doesn't seem to display anything - just a blank page.

IE 5.2 (for Mac - never use normally!) displays the login box but with a few problems like code displaying as text or images not displaying properly.

Firefox 2 (Mac, Windows and Linux) plus IE6 and IE7 should really be the main ones to worry about. If you've got time, fix Safari if possible. Otherwise, don't be overly conscious of other browsers in my opinion, unless this is going to be huge.

I've got it, I had a typo in my loginBox xsl.
Fixed in IE7.

Whym, I totally agrees, but I do this as a demo case too, and I ran curious about which browser could or not use this mode.
I don't plan it to grow big, but the main advantage of using this mode is that you have a perfect separation between datas (xml) and HTML formatting (xsl).
In fact, I could easily transform the site to output WML to be used on mobile phones whitout changing the code, just by selecting other stylesheets.

Could you try again in Safari ?
Just now that the XSL is corrected, to see if the behavior is still a blank page.

Thank you all.
Thierry.

Ah works now in Safari for Mac (and probably Safari for Windows at that rate).
