Having been asked to build a website for my club, I used these past four weeks as an opporunity to update my knowledge from the old days of HTML & Table layouts to more modern techniques. Being a fast learner, I have managed to construct a fully functioning XHTML website driven by PHP & CSS validated code . The site should also be fully compatible in Opera, FF, IE6 & IE7.

The site design & code is complete, the writing/content is slowly being added and should be complete by the end of this year. Please comment on any of the following:

- Anything you like/dislike
- The graphics/design making up the site
- The code behind the site
- Whether the navbar menu in your opinion is sorted logically and each subcategory fits in with the main category
- The christmas themed 'Sailing Club' logo

Petty or not, I am very eager to hear all of your opinions .

Homepage HERE.

I didn't quite stick to the rules before which is why my thread was deleted. I sincerely apologise for this. I have since made certain to follow the correct review rules for new members and have also made some changes (primarily to the homepage) of my site which I look forward to hearing your opinions on .

Awesome design, i really liked it, nice and clean and on top of that standards compliant. Logo looks ok, but A in the Sailing could have been designed a bit better. All in all you should be getting a pat on the back for doing such a good job on this site.

Design looks great. The weather image (bottom right) should not be compressed... it wrecks the text.

Three links not found:

You can setup a favicon.ico for fun. (ie, icon shows up on tabs and browser tab bars)

Did you use a template that you can send me? I have a friend who has a need for a site like yours.

looks good! you have a couple of small errors in your css (check your valid css 'banner') and you have resized the weather image bottom right only in the html and not in an image editor which is why it looks crap

Thank you for the positive reviews! My css had always validated without any errors, I must have made some changes last minute :s... these have now been fixed, thanks!

shshao, I didn't use any commerical/free templates, the whole site has been designed from scratch by me, sorry. If you like the design please get in contact by PM with a price you/your friend is willing to pay for my designs...

I am aware of the weather image, it is a bit more complicated than simply changing its size as it is fed from an external weather server which auto changes the images size... I will have to look into this factor over the coming days .
