Hey there folks, I'm interested in your opinion.

What do you folks think of my site?

http://www.jdkspot.com

Is it sort of decent?

Nice site. It is presented well, easy to follow, and organized. My only concern is that JDK made me think of Java Development Kit. I'm not sure if you're infringing on a trademark or anything of the sort, but I wanted to let you know that =) Good luck!

P.S. I might be visiting your site for your logo services.

Thank you LmT, I appreciate your response.
I look forward to your business.

JDK is actually my initials - not sure when they copyrighted the name, but I was born in 1986... so I've held the copyright pretty long

There is, ironically, another JDK design company operating. Damnit!

Thank you.

The year you were born and having the same initials has nothing to do with legal copyright. Though I'm not sure if you can copyright random initials like that at all.

I like the use of green; in my opinion way too many design sites use blue as their main color. I'm not digging the blue at the top, doesn't match very well with the earthy green.

Instead of opening the regular image files into a new window (which in my browser, it opens a new tab), why not try LightBox Javascript?

Something is up with Services menu (screenshot attached from Mac FireFox), unless you meant for it to look like that?

What's that in the background? It's visually interesting, I just can't figure out what it is!

I was joking about the copyright.

The thing in the background is a random design I made.

Also, I meant the services to look like that.

Thanks for the lightbox tip.

Looks pretty nice. But I think if you want to sell design services you ought to do better, moving from "pretty nice" to jaw dropping "wow" means the difference between not making a sale and making a sale.

The background image looks a bit too much as you say, a random design you made. Although it's pretty ok, but again, is "ok" enough for you?

You have a good sense with colors, I like the color scheme. For a design company, I'd have perhaps gone with a bit lighter color scheme, but that's maybe just a matter of taste.

The "information is your business" image is great! It has a very clear message, but again, I'd put more effort to it. Because, at the end of the day it's still more or less a box with two colors. Why not add some eye candy to it? Make those jaws drop.

You use a bit difficult font color, the color of the font is so close to the background color it makes the text very hard to read. Since you have that little text, you could make it stand out more, even use a bit large font to get your message read.

The JDK image with the map doesn't show with Firefox with AdBlock Plus enabled. You might want to fix that.

The bottom navigation is good, I like it. You might want to update your copyright, nothing says "I'm out of business" better than an outdated copyright year.

I'd use some more effort with the title of your site, using just your site's name as the title is a bit boring and doesn't really give all the SEO effect possible.

The main menu bar is the main thing I don't like about your site, it's too simple. It looks like it's your average web 3.0 blog. Usually that's not so bad, but again, if you're trying to sell me design services, I'd expect to see something better.

I'd recommend you to use underlined links, they simply are the best for usability and conversion.

Thanks a lot. I'm not sure when you saw the site, but I've updated it since then.

The version I saw looks exactly the same as the current one, except when I last checked it the site didn't have that "free advertising" block at the bottom. And please, do consider removing it.

If you want to sell a product or a service on your webiste, you shouldn't have any third party ads. It looks bad and simply isn't a good idea. For example, at the moment I see your competitor's ad on your site. That can't be good to your sales.

I'm looking to advertise for $0.00.

For something that is free - it doesn't seem like such a bad idea. I also changed my site's category so that they don't show ads from competitors.
