Website Review and Suggestions

Please review this. This website is not new, but the layout is, and registration is not required anymore, which I hope makes the uploading a very straightforward process.

The design is very simple - the purpose is to give some sort of "no-frills" feeling.

The site looks OK. The service sounds great! My first unanswered question, by just looking at the page, is: how do I actually share the file? how do I actually get to download it? The text in the second paragraph gives a hint on how you do this. It may be good if something relating to this end of the service is added to one of the heading lines.

The design look fine, though I would prefer something to spice it up a litle bit. I know it suppose to look simple, which is fine and I like it, but thats how I feel when looking at it.

I actually found it rather understandable how to share the file. Uploaded an image and everything was straightforward. Good call on canceling registeration. Overall I like your site.

I usually like simple sites but I don't know about this one... Maybe it's the background color that I mainly dislike here.

The name of the service is great! And I like the blue main box, maybe you should use a bit more blue in the site and then use a white or light gray background? That would give your site a modern touch without making it too flashy.

What's the deal with the Reset button? There's nothing I hate more than filling up a form and then hitting the reset button by mistake. And I'm not alone, many usability experts also agree that Reset buttons are 99% the time just bad, as I think is also the case with this site. Just drop the button, there's no need for it.

Now I don't usually whine about html errors but since your site is pretty simple, you could pay some attention and make the html 100% valid.

the stripes background really hurts my eyes. Try going with a solid background color.

I personally think it would look better if the background colour, and the background of the "Upload box" were switched. Maybe it would give it a nicer feel, and it would be easier on the eyes.

Also, maybe you can add a "Recently uploaded" page, or a page where a user could view all uplaoded content? This is more of a suggestion.

Nah. Don't do a recently uploaded thing because that takes away the security issue. If you're going to upload a large file chances are you might not want a lot of people either knowing about it, seeing it, or find out about it.

delighted, great job first of all for a very clean, smooth and simple design. It's so refreshing compared to some of the other similar ones I've seen. The no ads things is also very very promising. Keep it that way, please?

That being said, I would add a small feature of security somewhere, a small note or a padlock making it explicit that the content they upload is not going to be shared, revealed, or otherwise accessible to those who don't have the right. To be fair, your concept is a lofty one because you'll be needing a lot of space and a lot of bandwidth (something most other people don't have/can't afford) which means people will be wary of something as nice as yours. They might thing "Oh, there's a catch somewhere" or "oh, it's not safe" because people learn after a while that there isn't that many stories that are too good to be true and true at the same time.

So yeah. That's my two cents. Give it a whirl, and good luck!

From a technical point of view, this wouldn't be a big challange, and I have really considered it. Reason it's not there is that most (or many, at least) users would like their files to be "private" - just the ones they give the link to can download the file.

I agree with another user that say that background shouldn't be white, it make hard tto read on bigger screen.
Anyway, everything else look fine, and clean.

Thank you. The colors are changed now. I think a blue background makes it easier on the eyes.
