Website Review and Suggestions

Hi,

I'm working on a design (round 2 actually, round 1 here: http://www.webmaster-talk.com/websit...tml#post518449) don't really have experince in this, so I will really appreciated any advice/ opinion on this design. Especailly on the main part, I'm pretty please with the footer and the header, but I feel like something is missing in the main part. I've also used rounded images and non-rounded images, which one look best you think?

Block 1 is suppose to be a preview, like 'Welcome Blah Blah...about the website blah blah'. I'm not really sure how to do it though, nothing I come up with is good enough, like it is obviously text on the left and image/slideshow on the right, but can't really come up with a design. Will really appriciate any advices.

(found some relevent vectors, maybe something with them)

Block 2 I'm not sure yet, maybe ads? or something like 'daily tip' haven't decided yet.

I like it alot! Honestly, if you can get this coded as clean as it looks, i would be forced to give it a 9.5/10 !

Block 2 could be an image realting to the news feature beside it?

i would advice you not to use rounded edges for images as in the long run it will be dificult for you to maintain and update the site... ie. if you are planning to slice it and make a website...

This is your first design? If soo, then I couldn't imagine how your websites will look iwhen you get more experiance!
Off course, now you need to code it, that will take you more time!

Looks pretty good, theres an easy ajax script for that menu that you have so I wouldn't totally say that part is your design. I would change the text at the bottom. Times New Roman is just Old School to me.

The body is boring looking.

The footer is unnecessarily huge.

Add some spice to the body and shrink that abrasive footer. The design is amazing, assuming you made the icons. Otherwise, it's just good.
