Website Review and Suggestions

Hi everyone
I purchased arcadekill.com a few days ago at this very forum (see thread) and have since dedicated a fair amount of time cleaning it up, fixing bugs, adding a ton of games, and the like. I guess it's ready for a bit of a review from you folk, which I, evidently, will appreciate very much (and if you don't want to review, there's plenty of stuff to play anyways

).

I like the site alot, especially the top heading which really suits it well!

As far as improvements go, I would only say that the home page is little over crowded for my liking.

I know nearly all online gaming sites are very similar, however I think you may have too many links on there. Maybe if you get rid of some of them and make the images that little bit bigger it would make a difference.

Just my personal preference really. Good luck with the site!

I like the web, it´s doing its work with being well intuitive, without tons of bothering advertisements and everything there is on the place it should be IMHO. But it´s plus is maybe it´s greatest minus - it seems very static. You have quite good and agressive web name so put there some more action

But anyway good web, with good name i wish you add some M$ to your home budget

I really like the template and it makes it very enticing to the viewer. I am also an aspiring Arcade webmaster, but I've had very little success despite the fact that I even hired a person to make custom games (they were pretty bad tho).

I think that you will have a lot of success with ArcadeKill.

It's a clean layout, with the header graphics being sufficiently different so you can tell they're different games.

Lots happening on that home page, but it's clean enough not to get you cross-eyed.

Some of the game descriptions have weird English though, you might want to look at that.

There was one game I clicked on that asked if it could use an Active X control with just an OK button (no cancel button). That was a bit of a worry.

The game detail pages are nicely laid out, and I do like the embed code for games.

Good job. Site does exactly what it should do.

Yes, the English on some of the games is terrible, so I will have to sift and sort and fix (and me being somewhat of a stickler for proper English, it makes me cringe and shudder). I added a "videos" section which I hope will set the site apart from most other similar game sites.

I'd be worried about the ActiveX thing as well - I hope it's an isolated game rather than a common theme? (I'm hoping I can go through the games and start fixing minor errors, but that'll be a year-long project!

)

Looks good. Keeps me wanting to look at it. Nice color scheme. Bruce Lee game is funny.
All dates seem to be showing added 1969??
Kinda hard to critique a nicely laid out site. Great job.

I would do something with the links on the left and the right. I think the blocks on the two sides should be a column all white bg, and head 5 headers and links under the respective headings. I think that may help clean up the home page a bit. It IS a lot to view at first.

I LOVE the header though. Excellant job on that!

I like the yellow navigation bar but I noticed the header image is a character from Warcraft. Warcraft is a PC game and I dont believe there is a arcade version.

I also noticed when hovering over the navigation, the hot spots are off quite a bit. I have to click on the very right side of the buttons to get them to navigate.

I am using a browser not many know about called Crazy Browser. Basically a masked version of IE without all the added extras. It works alot like IE but I believe it to be ALOT better.

I run Windows XP with a screen resolotion of 1900x1200. The resolution may have somthing to do with it but then again maybe not. I tried the site in Firefox and did not have this issue. I believe it is my browser. I wouldnt be too worried about it because very few actually use Crazy Browser.

I usually use FF but just happend to have CB open when viewing your site.

Overall nice design and style. Good luck on your site!

Nice looking site. I have bookmarked it for later on when I get home, I will play some of the games and leave better feedback.
