I think the success of forums depends a third on how well the forum is designed and two thirds on who's there and what's written (that is, the *people* make up the forum). On the design side I think it's well done (and please hold off on the ads for the time being), so now all you have to do is actively promote your site. That's going to be hard - forums take a fair amount of time to develop, as you root out the people who write useless and nonsensical things and you start to get self-moderation (peer posters moderating posts). I would try to get the word out in as personal a fashion as possible (get in touch with your friends, write on movie forums -- without getting too promotional --) and try to develop something that is uniquely at your forum.
