It all depends on what you wan to do with your site. The layout is ok but a bit plain. If that's intended and what you need then stick with it, but if not then you may want to look at other possibilities. This is a site about graphics correct? If so its pretty plain for a graphics site.

The Site's Aim Was To Allow Members To Post Articles etc to do with any of the categories. so will That Be Enough Or Will People Be Put Off By The Simple Design?
The only thing I would say is make your background a little bit more obvious, it's blending in just a tad too much. I like your logo, very "Web 2.0". I would make the orange of "Categories" match the orange of your logo. Drop the horrid serif font. Perhaps shrink down that top tab to fit your logo better, you have a lot of blank space there.
