no free gerbals no care; j.k .. . .. . checking it out.......

good site, but you would likely save some money if you just got hooked up with a credit card company to sell your stuff.

selling stuff via auctions on ebay isnt efficient. in fact it ends up being really expensive to make a sale.

Liked your site. Takes a while to load. I believe its updating the cotent via API call from Ebay. Is that true?

Thanks sri_gan! Sucks its taking so long to load, I think its got something to do with my hosting provider. I'd shake a stick at them if I knew what direction to shake it at, you can bet that much! You are correct about the API from ebay sir, 10 points! I just started using a program called BANS that makes making these Ebay Niche websites a cake walk. I am going to get like 100 of these bad boys each making me 5 bucks a day so I can finally move out my moms basement.

Cheers!

It looks very amateur. One of those web sites I wouldn't trust with my CC or even both to check the web site out beyond the home page.

You have a neat little favicon (same as your Avatar here I guess), why not incorporate that?

Invalid HTML. Invalid CSS.

Are you just taking the silly web site builder here and putting ebay products in?

Thanks for the honest review TripleMoons! Its funny how we sometimes see our own work in a better light than others might see it in. I thought my website was pretty cool looking until your review. After your verbal fish slapping I saw it for what it really was...an amateurish, untrustworthy looking website. If it weren't for your honesty it would have stayed that way too, so thank you .

I have updated it with some of your suggestions and I hope you will give it another honest review. I am new to the website building game and appreciate any suggestions you could give me.

BTW: Yes the website is built with Ebay affiliate builder software but I would hardly consider the $43 bucks I made yesterday silly.

Cheers,
AlienFarmer

Really, you're not building a web site, just plug and playing that software. The web site doesn't look much different outside you changed the header. I like the little sun dude and the banner...But that creepy guy on the right needs to go. The text in the header isn't lined up very nicely either...It's just kind of randomly hanging there.

Since you have two sections of sponsored links, why not nix the one on the right and just make it a 2 column layout?

You HTML and CSS is still invalid.

Thanks abuzz, I liked him too! But after much consideration I decided to let the geek go. I am going for more of a sleek and sexy look for the site now. He will be missed...

So how does the site look now TripleMoons? Can I get your CC, SS# and mothers maiden name or does it still look too amateurish? After digging around in the code for 10 hrs straight I have decided to never customize a template again! From now on I build my own like a big boy, probably save a lot of time doing it that way anyway.

Cheers,
AlienFarmer

I think your definitely on the right track.

I would decrease the header banner size so that there's not so much blank space over the sun dude (he needs a name ). I would change the rollover colors of blue to something that matches the web site (perhaps yellow or orange to match the sun dude?).

Do all the 12 volt battery chargers have the ability to charge dead car batteries?

I think your biggest problem is that that the content isn't really yours. It's just a bunch of links to eBay and other affiliate stuff. That's not original content and it's not something the vast majority of potential users will want to see.

If you want to build a website, be original. You can always figure out things like the geek later on, but everything stems from original content.

Sorry for the lack of a detailed review, but there isn't much there to review. It's just links. That's it.

@Matt W.,
Thanks for kind words! I really don't know if all 12V battery chargers have the ability to charge dead car batteries or not. I tried to google the answer for you but could not find an absolute yes or no...sorry.

@ADAM web design,
Thanks for the review! You may be right about the vast majority of users, but this is a website I want to see. My flagship business is Solar Coupons and I need to know who is selling solar and how much their selling it for in order to know a good deal when I see one. Ebay is a great market research tool and instead of 3,4 or 5 clicks to get to a specific solar product or brand, now I only need 1 click. You are definitely right about content though, content is king. I plan on adding all 50 state rebates for solar installation, federal rebates, tips to finding a good solar installer, tips to installing your own solar system and much more. I really just wanted a review on the overall look of the website before I started adding my own content to it.

@TripleMoons,
As always you have an amazing eye for design! I made the header smaller and changed the link colors to yellow and it looks awesome. (invalid code is coming from solar light store ad?) Thanks for all your help in the design of my website. Without you I would probably still have that ugly orange spiral on top with the creepy geeky guy giving the thumbs up to all my visitors. As for naming the sun dude I think I may have to give away a FREE SOLAR PANEL to who ever comes up with the best name. Right now I am figuring out how to add an audio "play" button to my home page. When clicked I want it to play the audio recording of that Enron salesman bragging about how they jacked up grandmas energy prices so she could no longer afford her pills.

For the audio file, you could use this:

Code:
<object classid="clsid:02BF25D5-8C17-4B23-BC80-D3488ABDDC6B"
        codebase="http://www.apple.com/qtactivex/qtplugin.cab"
        width="200" height="16">
  <param name="src" value="music/BYJazzBarbados.mp3" />
  <param name="autoplay" value="false" />
  <param name="pluginspage" value="http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/" />
  <param name="controller" value="true" />
  <!--[if !IE]> <-->
    <object data="music/BYJazzBarbados.mp3" width="200" height="16" type="video/quicktime">
      <param name="pluginurl" value="http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/" />
      <param name="autoplay" value="false" />
      <param name="controller" value="true" />
    </object>
  <!--> <![endif]-->
</object>
Just change the two source values to where your mp3 is located. Here is where I implemented this code so you can see what it looks like...Pretty basic but it works.

AAAAAHHHHH TripleMoons, quick time makes my firefox browser crash. Thank you for the code though, that was really nice of you. I think I am going custom with this though. I just got Flash and Dreamweaver and I am itching to learn how to use them.

Cheers,

Sounds like something is wrong with your browser. I use FireFox and it runs smoothly. Perhaps it's time for an update or your missing a plug-in?
