Please review this. also, if you could send me to some other similiar (not necessarily Iowa, but local) boards, so I can see what they are doing right and I can do better...

This is an Iowa Based forum. I dont have a huge base yet, but its a new site, so bear with me. I am trying to work on the design a little, maybe tweak the logo, maybe tweak the site description, add some phpbb hacks...

so links and recs would be great.... also any SEO advice would be helpful too. God I'd love to be on the first page for "Iowa Forums", "Iowa Message Board" and "Iowa Forum" google searches.... that would be simply amazing.

Feedback is helpful, this is my first site since the early 90s (an n64 geocities site); I just started learning code so keep it simple for me!

thanks everyone in advance.... and if your from iowa, im going to market the **** out of this locally.... im thinking printing some fliers and putting them where i can.... maybe flier some bar bathrooms, some cars @ bars and high traffic walking areas (skywalks in Iowa)

It looks good. It looks like a forum not much to review.
The logo looks good to me.
Maybe you could add some sort of portal page as an index so it doesn't just jump into the forum.

I like the design, clean and simple. It looks good. The logo is a litle blurry for my taste, litle hard to read.

You look like you have the types of boards well thought out and that's one of the most important things. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of having a google search bar on the page. Most people I know have search bars built into the browser, so it is redundant and seems to interrupt the site. I'd also like to see a theme with more personality that is Iowa-related. Instead of boxes down the side next to the boards, maybe some kind of Iowa-related icon? I'm by no means a pro at making stuff like this, but I'm just giving you my thoughts on what I like to see when I go to a forum. Keep up the good work and good luck!

Your forum lloks good: It has a great, clean and nice design, which i like.
But the letter size could be bigger. Yes, it is really a lil bit too small in my view.
At the border, there could be some links or small pics to fill it.
