Hi - this isn't a website yet but I hope it will be accepted into this category as I am asking for suggestions and basically feedback, even though the website does not actually exist yet.
This idea recently came about from some software I had developed a while ago. This particular software runs on the Windows operating system and counts the number of keys a user presses in a given time period, updating a remotely hosted database.
Now, imagine I were to develop a website and have sponsor advertising on it. The role the sponsors play in this is that ALL the users signed up for this service leave the software running in the background. Every 24 hours, the total key presses are added up. So say we've arranged with the sponsors that for every 50000 key presses (for example) they donate a fixed amount of money to charity.
The sponsors would get there company name in the software (in TOOLTIP or other form, not spyware/adware etc.) and advertising on the main site itself.
I was hoping to gain feedback on this idea in the form of what you guys think of it and just any ideas really of any companies that may wish to sponsor this project.
