Website Review and Suggestions

it was a website i had ran a long time ago and had a decent amount of users, but due to money had to shut it down. now i have redesigned it and have it back up and running and would like some suggestions on how to improve it and how to gain some users back

It's quite a nice design, but appears somewhat dated. The small font image buttons up top are really a dead concept and should be replaced with larger text, opposed to images. There is a lot of grey, and perhaps you could break this up with some colour or different shaded sidebars?

The dark grey bars either side of the layout give it structure, but are also the most eye catching part of the layout. You need to direct your users eye to your content with some font styling, and generally larger text/headings. Right now my eye is just going straight to those dark grey bars, which you don't want to happen.

On the plus side the design is 'high-tech' looking which I guess you're going for, I just think it needs work usability wise.

Very professional looking, perhaps a little too much grey. Obviously quite a busy site already.

Just to let you know, it took 0.26 seconds to download the page but it felt like a lot longer.

I agree with Clink. The small font image and text should be larger.
You have 281 validation warnings. Don't know if it is important ??
You may want to check and change some of your keywords.
I kept going to a restricted area. Strange, many other sites have tutorials and computer repair information free, or not in a restricted area (they use it as a drawing to visitors). There is a large information pool at Microsoft with detailed instructions on how to fix windows problems. HP has detailed information on how to fix computer hardware problems, so do many other manufactures, including hard drive manufactures. You may want to check their site for FAQs about repair. The information is current and they have step-by-step instructions. They also have downloads for updates to drivers, BIOS, and other information. You may want to add some of the information to your site or a link.
