Hey guys,

This site's brand new, and the main reason I decided to set it up is because friends of mine were requesting something like this. I admit it's not aiming to be an internet prodigy or anything, just a little local messaging board for people who want i nice relaxing time.

It's uniqueness comes with it's theme, in that you could say it doesn't have one. It's a place who's users want to talk about pretty much everything. By saying this I don't expect it to attract everyone... very few people in fact. But I know from my time on forums that I like places I can just talk about a load of random stuff that comes to me. Hard to explain.

Anyway, I'm not particularly interested in getting my site to "attract" half the internet. I would like to be confident that it performs well, keeping errors down... and that it has reasonable degree of uniqueness in it's content, and it's interface.

Please tell me about any browser problems, php/database errors, and also the speed at which it loads. I'm running it off my own Linux server (in the uK) and I'm very worried about the loading times. If you could tell me where you are roughly, what browser you're using, and how long it takes to load, that would be fantastic.

I would also love some comments on the site generally. I don't expect it to be everyone's cup of tea. I would like it to grow around it's memebrs as it were. Obviously it's very small at the moment... and right now I like it that way.

Thanks for listening to my ramble. All comments and constructive critisism welcome.

P.s. Just so ya know, it was made from the Vanilla open source community package by Lussumo. Quite a lot of changes have been made to the original script though.

Very nice. Make hyperlinks change color after visiting page. That way I know if I had been to the page already.

Thanks! Done that now. Chose a faint purple for them, do you think it looks okay? Or is it too dull?

I completely agree. I've looked at that before... of course I just looked at it again to make sure.

The problem is, although I've got the body set to 100% (the body being the parent of the main componants), I have no global div that wraps the whole site within the body tag. The forum doesn't seem to like me adding my own either. I've tried several different methods to either get rid of the white at the bottom or shift the footer to the bottom, but nothing seems to be working.

I'll keep working on it but any suggestions welcome.

Thanks for the feedback! It's really appreciated.

Okay. I've just changed the footer so it sticks to the bottom of the browser window... even when you haven't scrolled all the way down.

Do you think this is better or worse than leaving the white space? I'm considering changing it back at the moment.

What does anybody think?
