Hello,

This time, I'm back with a new site for your review. It's at www.ebook88.com . This was the very first project I did way back in 2002 and because it looked outdated, I redesigned the site and gave it a new logo and a new look.

What do you think of the site? (BTW, this is the favorite out of the 7 sites I owned and designed). Contentwise as well as design?

Any comments for improvement is welcome.

Thank you!

Shenz

More graphics needed, even though your product isn't paper-based, one of a book's biggest selling points is its cover.

I like your brand logo, but what does the 88 bit mean? It's not obvious and might confuse people. The font next to the logo - lose the Times Roman font, this always makes me think of frontpage templates! There's also a lot of space left vacant in this cell which could be made use of, e.g. a graphic with lots of happy people enjoying their ebooks on their laptop maybe?

Thanks for your observations.

I did have a story of how ebook88 got its name at the back of the site. Actually, I was also working on another site called music88 (a recorder resources) site simultaneously, and the "88" represents the 88 keys of the piano keyboard. At that time, I completed writing an ebook called "Teaching Sopranino Recorder" and decided that an ebook site would be good, so this site came about - and took on the name ebook88 (actually meant to be a tiny site to showcase my sopranino ebook .... but it grew and grewout of control!)

The logo was designed new - and the keyboard was a pic. of my laptop keyboard.

This main site was laid out using Netscape composer and handcoded - it's not template based. In fact, before this makeover, it was a very inconsistent site.

However, the directory is redone using a content management software for ease of updating.

About the cells on the top, I have erased most of the stuff there. I'm actually priming up my site to accept advertisements.

Try these keywords in Google "buy ebook device", "submit ebooks" "college ebooks" "kids ebooks" etc. They are all ranked very high up on Google. This is one of the more successful sites I have and I'm quite careful in changing anything so as not to affect Googles ranking.

Yes you defenetly need mroe graphics on that website.
You can put a menu with nice rollovers instead of text-based menu you have right now.

Contentwise .. i think it's ok ..

All in all... 7/10
