hi

i'm aged 16 a web designer and a graphical designer could people give me some feedback on my new portfolio site i designed and coded myself www.timothyblake.com

wow i like it the java script i think it is with the images is sweet, where about are you from UK? USA??

I do love your work but i think you use a lot of brushed is your design work am i correct?

i think he meant, 'in' your work not 'is' your work.

hey, brilliant, im 15 in the UK, reasonably good at web design i think, not so great with the general graphics (such as sigs, avatars and the likes.) But i don't see any flaws in this site, love the background, similar sort of thing as i used on one of my old forums, good header, nav's good though quite simple...

yer, good work, keep it up.

EDIT: remember looking at your old website, the black and red one....that was good too.

EDIT 2: also, i noticed the use of javascript etc... this is really good, i haven't began to learn that yet, currently tackling PHP, very slowly, but yer, good work.

Just looked havnt checked your code but love the design like my mate^ up there i too am 15/16 and am more of a programmer not so good with my PS lol

but very good site like the design, one thing which i thought might look better is if the Navigation links was centred.

Well it looks like all the other young members of the forum have commented so I might as well

(I'm 16 btw). I'm getting to grips with the graphics side of web design but I'm now reasonably good at the code work (learning lots of PHP and a bit of JS right now).

I like the design and I think your portfolio work is great. A few suggestions:

1) The portfolio page doesn't validate although you include a "valid HTML" link - I suggest you fix this so it does validate if possible.

2) I'd recommend you capitalize the W and M in West Midlands on the first page - just looks neater.

3) The columns change on each page rather than remaining consistent widths - it would look better IMO if the widths of the columns were consistent across the pages. (Just a thought anyway).

your div with the main content (starting 'Welcome') needs setting to show overflow because when you know up the text size a couple of notches the text disappears out the bottom

i never really realised how many people where 16 on web master anyway thanks for the feed back im gonna take every think on board which people suggested keep the feedback coming please.

You would be suprised i have to be honest when i first joined i was suprised at how old many members were, i had never reallised how many "senior" people are into web dev etc.

Yer dan does the serverside stuff, and database stuff and all that other shiz i wish i could do...lol, and i design and code templates.

looks like you've got it all though, i just looked through your gallery again, seen some nice work, although there isnt much on there. lol.

Looks awesome. I like the layout. Loads fast. Image rotators are huge eye candy. I saw your's was flash. Have your tried php? I use joomlaworks.. What are you using for the pop up images? did you style them yourself?

whym ive sorted out my code so now my portfolio page validates thanks for pointing that out because i wasn't awear of this also i capitalized them two letters which you suggested me to do thanks for feed back

Well, speaking as one of the OLD, SENIOR web designers... ahem...

Nice work. I was glad to see good, clean, valid coding presenting your very awesome graphical skills

There's one thing that you REALLY need to work on, or get help with - the writing. I started to read your "About Me" page and you have a lot of grammatical and spelling errors and it's just poorly written. If you're going to do professional work, and garner professional clients, then your text needs to be impeccable, and yours isn't. If you're not a word-nerd and lack the editorial skills, then get someone to help you who IS, it will go a long way in presenting your work. Nothing screams 'unprofessional' more than bad writing, bad grammar, and bad spelling.

at the moment i've had no one to design for, so portfolio contains 2 sites which i designed for free (and are basic). my birthday is next week, and i'm gonna hold a 'guess my age' poll to see how old most people think i am

can i ask a question about your website, how did you make your swf file on the homepage?
