Website Review and Suggestions

I have designed a site for fans of an indie music group called Smoosh. They are from Seattle, Washington. They are three young sisters. In the site there are clips of performances, and pictures, and a timeline of their history.
Also, there are some fan fiction submissions.

I use Freewebs.

It was EXTREMELY slow loading and that background was really bad to look at while waiting. Laying out audio and tons of pictures on the same page not a great idea, especially your first page. I think you have a decent start just need to break up your content better.

I agree with Roje, the background is bad, and your font type should be changed too,... other than that your menu should be in somekind of bar, instead of loose links,

Slow loading and too simple. The purple background ruins everything. I mean this out of respect.

Slow loading? I actually looked at the site from at least two other locations besides my own. Everything seems to load quickly. How slow in terms of speed are we talking here?

As for the background, yeah I get your drift, but I think purple is the lead singer in the group's favorite color. Hence the background.

just beacuse the lead singer likes it doesn't mean every single site visitor is going to.

It seems too random and needs more organization and a unified style. All the links and text should be the same, etc.

Okay, I will get rid of the ugly background. I will do something with the nav bar. Ummm... Has anyone heard of Smoosh?

You need to downsize the photos. Whatever size they're going to be on the page, the dimensions need to be that for the photo you use (dont downsize in the html code), otherwise the will look choppy and they take REALLY long to load because the user is really just loading a bunch of big pictures on one page.

I am a bit disappointed by this site. Honestly, I think Smoosh would be too. I looked them up, they are about 16, 14, and 12. Teenagers, no matter how people regard them, want to look 'good.' Your site downgrades on everything. You need to to just make it a lot neater and the videos load too slowly. The pictures and the fake advertisements make you look like a ten year old just learning the basics, not an accomplished adult. Try again.

Yep, the site is no longer there. Seriously though, no ever use a free webhosting service. Especially if you are unable to host your own dedicated domain name. You will get little to no traffic as a result.

Keep your opinion to yourself. There are quite a few people with sites that had been around longer than mine was and were quite popular with the band I was promoting. I checked my site stats and I got site traffic from around the world. About 12 a day. Not a great big bunch but I am sure the other freeweb Smoosh sites were higher because they were somewhat older. When I killed the site I received about three or four comments in email asking why.
Whoever that Lissa person is must be a poser because he/she just decided to come in here and make unnecessary remarks because the site is gone and
they are a sad person in my book indeed!

I certainly did not mean to offend. You asked for a review and I gave you my honest opinion. As the site was no longer there, I could only comment on the choice of host. My comments were meant as advice to help you, not to flame you.

Yes I know. I think I need to leave the forum. I have no web site anymore. Look I am a manic depressive. I can go months with projects which I then toss aside because i think i suck at it. I am sorry. And that person I was talikng about. I sent a really long private message and explained practically my life history. Seems she really is a fan of this group. I want to go now. I was never angry I am just depressed I wanto forget all this. I need to leave this forum.
