Website Review and Suggestions

Hey everyone,
I recently launched my graphics site on Friday - BlindMansGFX. I'm looking for your general feedback. I'm also asking, what do you guys think the best way to keep members coming back is? And the best way to gain new members?

to keep the readers/viewers coming back i suggest providing tutorials in parts, so that they are released over weeks rather than in one go

I had a look at the site, I can only advise as a layman as I know sweet fu*k all about web design, but I like it.

It seems like a very tech site, so that may be good or bad, and as I am usually looking at consumer sites it is not a bright and friendly as I like, but that may not be the point?

Also I am not sure what page I was on but some of the links did not work?

Ooooo I like it! Especially the background image, and the blue 'glowy' effects here and there.

Im not too sure if I like the dark grey parts though [having said that, I cant think what would look better that wouldnt clash with the blue parts].

Personally I think the first version of the site had a better colour scheme, but still, nice work!

thanks for the comments. I'm getting some mixed reviews on the design. Some say that it looks very amature, while others say it's "sexy". Now, it's not suppose to have the "web 2.0" look to it, as I'm not selling anything - it's suppose to be a graphics site. And it is graphically heavy. I think some people don't like that, and would like simpler.

I like the design and I don't think it has the cliche web 2.0 look. I did notice that the site took quite a while to load the first time because of all of the graphics so if you could optimize them to have a smaller file size or anything else that would help. Also, on the about page, I would have liked to be able to click the thumbnail image and have it show a larger image of the previous site designs.

I like the design but make it more visible by colors....the concept of glowing text and banners helps the site from top look good but to make it more visible the bg color for content thats the dark shade of grey can be more lighter or can use the some shade of blue as your theme.

To get more visitors and members join forums post your site link as on signature, participate in banner exchanges and link exchanges. These things helps you to get members.

left menu buttons are not nice aligned... you must check some sizes

...And I can see a difference at the left border in the menu..

It's easy to see your a beginer
