this is my first major website and is no where near compleated

Design is simple, which isn't a bad thing. However, I would've added a little more color. Perhaps something military related, like a faded camouflage tile. Also, the use of tables is entirely your choice but using css styles for layout would be better.

You should learn how to optimize your images better. You have very large images squeezed into smaller dimensions. For example, the image of the KC-135 refuel planes is 2100px, but you have it squeezed into 430px. Create smaller thumbnail images to link to the larger ones if you have to.

Content is very basic. Add some text and descriptions, not just pictures. Also, add other popular items in the sections. For example, you should add the F-117, UH-1, AH-1, and AH-64 to your aircrafts page. They are very popular and have very important roles in US military history.

BTW, I see only 2 reviews from you, not the required 3.

I would stray away from the flash intro, even with a skip button. The intro isn't that great. The top text (navigation elements) looks weird without a background. If you have a link to the home page in a nav bar, why not have your other links in a nav bar? Also, your content does not seem to have much organization. I would place titles/descriptions next to the images.

nice animated menu.
At first page I cannot see anything at your site in Opera 9.24 except counter and black background, but for Firefox 2 looks ok. Many people switch off flash in browsers. I recommend you remove flash animation at startpage and may be change it to static picture.
I think, pictures too big. You can resize it without losing impression. And backgound too contrast. Weapons is my passion and I wish you add more information, may be history of the development ScanEagle UAV etc.
I recommend you select font, may be verdana or arial. Right now your site using default browser font.

The previous comments summed up all that I was going to say, so I do agree with all that they said.

Definitely needs some kind of background. I recommend a gradient, or a very light/washed out camo. I had to look for the buttons at the top, because they were almost invisible, no attention is drawn up there. With a background the buttons would easily be noticeable. I also recommend putting a header (a long picture) at the very top, this would draw attention to the top of the page where the buttons are. That would familiarize the user with this common layout.

So...CSS, Background, Optimize images, more content, no flash. A cool thing you could do is use that intro as a header. You would of course need to change the dimensions by making is longer. For dimensions, try sticking with around 700px-800px, I like using 730px.

It's pretty basic site. What were your goals when creating the web site?

I also agree that your images could be optimized better.
