I have a fairly new site up and running at www.supersmashbc.com. I know that the template is very basic, we are working on that, but other than that do you have any suggestions for me?

Also, as far as the templates go, does anyone have any recommendations for getting a custom template designed with a low budget. All the ones I have found are either not very attractive or a little out of my price range. Thanks for any feedback.

Many forums do fine without a custom template. I suggest just fixing up the header. The quality is low it seems on my end. I have a very nice HP with vista..

If you have good content, then the template won't matter as much.

As I seems the top left logo is bit distorted, make it more large and place in a correct dimension....as I feels if you increase the height of that logo it will look more good. According to your forum colors, the banner goes in opposite direction. If you can co operate the forum color with your banner it will look nice and seems with consistence...

Banner is big and colourful. Maybe a bit too big?! I'd knock it down to maybe 150px high.

I like what they've done to phpBB3 but you can have a custom design in no time with these forums. Sinply changing the colours can make a world of difference and seperate it from the default style that so many others forums use.

There's a lot of blue in there by default. Why not try changing some of the colours to match the cololurful banner. Maybe some reds, greens etc.

Ok, thanks, I'll try and make some positive changes. The only problem I have with changing the template is that my current host does not allow me to do it myself (I have to submit the changes to him), so it doesn't allow me to experiment much, and it can kind of be a hassle. So I want to make sure that I find what I want before I go about changing it.

Oh, and nick, we have been up for a little over 5 weeks now.

Images are a bit distorted. I don't see any problem using the base template as it's done very well and your target audience won't care much.

Looks nice, I sure would work on the custom template, this one is basic, but yet nice.
