Looks good. I tried phpbb and i know the system. Try to make a custom intro page to make it more friendly with "About us/ our services /etc"

A page as website/blog? not the forum index as first page (?).
I could make such a topics in news-section.

...the forum is online from here. You have a nice idea and the forum is okay. You just need to replace the Anchor Text on the bar to something that relate to the forum. Good luck

Though, about the meta tags (i got meta tags in page header, not viewable) and navigation. it should keep clean, and for what the navigation concern, I have got no idea what to put in it besides that what's there now.
