My blog URL will be listed in EVERY post I make by default. Self-Promotion occurs within the body of the post as part of a comment. Spamming is basically a worthless post just to get your approved settings package noticed (the links I mentioned earlier). Perhaps this is just an issue of semantics. The way your alert is written makes it sound quite impossible for an honest forum poster to do so without first deleting all legitimate links from their settings. Since we each understand not the other, I am happy to continue this discussion openly. We are not the only ones encountering misunderstandings and miscommunications. It happens all over the Web every day.

Say WHAT?! Once I sign up in a forum, my settings remain intact throughout the entire board. Settings include things such as: email, PM, and WWW link, plus what might be listed in my sig line. This leads me to a total and irrevocable rejection of this forum. Regardless of its appearance.
