Firefox on Ubuntu Linux with a 4mb cable connection in the UK. It took a fair few seconds to load, I was about to close the tab when it finally appeared. I don't know if it's just my computer, other pages/sites are loading at more normal speeds but I do have a leaky firefox atm.
Seemed to load ok for me on an 8meg connection in the UK.
As for the design...personally I'd make the central column wider, and have a small little description or something - like a snippet to try and draw the user into reading the rest of the article if you know what I mean. Something like 25-35 words or something just to tempt them!
agree that is a wicked name to have, not sure i like the content placement though, can be hard to navigate on a first time visit and could put of potential longstay visitors?
Thanks for the comments. If you could, please elaborate on the design and navigation issues (as in, what's confusing about the navigation and what about the design needs work - colors, graphics, etc).
