I broke down and did it... I made an affiliate marketing / seo news site. I figured that since I spend so much time researching it anyway, I might as well share my finds with the community and try to make some money at the same time. So, if you have a moment, please visit:

Yes, it started as a template. But the content is wired into a custom cms, so the template accounts for a small portion of the actual site. It is one of many pluggable templates. Is it bad practice to use open source templates? I was not aware of that.

It's not bad to do it, but with that template, to me it looks rather cluttered, there is alot of text everywhere and just makes it look a little unappealing to me.

Thank you for the feedback! I took both of your comments to heart, along with other feedback I was given, and made changes. I've moved some of the advertising, changed the nav, and done some other cosmetic tweaks. Please let me know if you feel it is an improvement.

Yes, I do like the new version of the look alot better, it is a major improvement for reading your website and so on.

Just wanted to update you all. I took your advice and changed my site up. As a result, I have increased my CTR by 2%!!! Maybe that's not a lot to you big earners, but I was stoked. It pays to listen to good advice
