Website Review and Suggestions

I've been selling TVs and electronics for close to 6 years, and I've decided to start a site based on HDTV. The title header and programming section is still work-in-progress. What do you guys think? How is my Adsense placement? What areas do I need to improve on?

I'll give you kudos for the effort, but honestly it is a bit bland (although my 'style' is about the same), and upon initial look, appears to be the typical 'article site'.

The problem is you are using Joomla the CMS, so your restricted to using already made themes, unless you want to spend lots of money to customize he skin.

Your site has so many words!! get some more pictures!

ALso that is a very common joomla skin, try getting a diferent skin, there are lots of free ones!

The template I'm using was the only one I liked, functionally and visually. I do want to improve the design, but for the time being I'm happy. I've been concentrating on adding content that I've neglected adding images, and that will be improved soon.

I like the content, it is very informative. I agree with what others have said though the theme is too "unoriginal". I would suggest making a corperate style theme to go with it.

Thanks Cyrix. I will continue to look for a new template. I've added some more content such as a comparison chart showing what channels are offered via providers such as Dish, DirecTV, Comcast, etc. Let me know what you think.

Does anyone here know how to ad adsense code directly to a news entry in Joomla? I use HTML mode to cut and paste the code, but the ad never shows up in the news entry...

It just looks like another cms page, it needs either a better template or some sprucing up. It didn't grab me, and anyone on the web knows that you need to get people's attention straight away. (side issue - your header is round, but header logo is square...)

There are hundreds of very nice looking free templates. Try joomlaya.com there is a great collection of freebie there. The site is up and down sporadically, so if it doesn't work try again later. Hope this helps

Indeed I am. Simple changes like that can make a site look a lot more proffesional.
