I have started a Digg-like site specifically for the SEO community - SEOyak.com.

My biggest problem right now is getting people to participate. I have had some people register, but most of them just vote once or twice, or submit an article, and then they never come back to the site again. Any suggestion on how to get people to participate more and come back to the site?

Thanks

What you really need to do is get some of the major seo bloggers like seomoz, seroundtable, shoemoney, searchengineland, and techcrunch. If you can get them to pitch it to their users, your site will take off. But I don't know what you can give them to get them to do it... A permanent link on your homepage? Or send them a pie and a six-pack of beer with a nice letter? I guess the second idea is worth trying if you're serious about your site. It won't be hard to write a post about that.

Yeah gopher that would be nice. I sent emails to some of the majors when I launched, but none of them responded at all. Thinking back, I think I kind of screwed up with the email. I just sort of said "Check out this new site of mine, you might be interested". If I had to do it again, I'd probably say "Can I get your advice on this?", I think I may have gotten a better reaction.
