I thought that this site was a dud. It was a shame because I spent the most time on this one. It has all unique content, some unique pictures, really worked hard on SEO on this site. I forgot to add a channel for it in adsense. Since I never even saw one impression I didnt bother to look into it. I just figured that I am a newb to SEO and that it isnt a very common travel place.

Well, today I decided to check my tracking on it. Found out that I have top rankings above the fold for a lot of good keywords. My main page is still not above the fold or even on the first page but almost all of my subpages are above the fold for their keywords. Not much traffic for this cause as I said it isnt one of the most popular travel spots.

In the last month i have had 126 visitors. This isn't a lot but hey, untill today I thought I was getting nothing. Plus, 99% of those are all from the SERPs. Mostly google but some AOL and MSN.

So I am wondering what you think of the content, design, and the SEO I did on it. Below are some info on the SEO...

Below are keywords that when typed into google will show my site or one of its subpages above the fold...

bucherer lucerne
lucerne to pilatus top transportation ( #1 )
visit lucerne
travel lucerne
how to reach mount pilatus

Site: Travel Lucerne - Lucerne, Switzerland

There are some more that I dont feel like listing now. For expert SEOs out there - Am I on the right track with SEO? I have been using these same tactics with all my new sites and they are all getting traffic already.

I like the layout and look of the site - looks nice. I also like the way you have done the attractions section - it's good to show a big picture like you have done.

You could use some more info in the travelers info section. The Google Maps feature doesn't seem to be working (no map shows up). Photo Gallery link doesn't go anywhere, and the History section could use more text.

Overall, the site layout is nice and definitely has potential. It's easy to rise in SE rankings for niche sites like this. But in order to do so, you need more content. So fill out the pages that you have (travelers info, history, etc) with some more content and details, and then move on to add more info (more hotels, attractions, etc).

Just remember - focus on content and you will see your rankings start to improve, thus improving your traffic. After you have a strong content base, move on to backlinks and things like that - but you will want to get the content first.

Rob, it may be in the SEO section. I posted it there too, since it was more pertaining to the SEO part of the site.

Thanks for the advice superman.

Looks really nice, I agree Superman859, big picture was a good choice. My suggestion would be to first give the left side some better headings and make the navigation look more like navigation. (probably make all the links h4 and the headings h3 with custom bullet points instead of "-")

Second, to make your content in the middle look bigger, add a couple relevant photos in there and make your headline bigger - About Lucerne Switzerland, I might even consider taking out the "About" because it sounds like you know more about it and more professional without the "about" in the main heading. Oh, and make the heading h1 for seo. Also, alt tag your pictures for better seo... and basically add more content to each of the pages with more pictures on each page too.

I really like the bg color and how mixes well w/ the blue in the photo as well as the rounded corners. Good job
