Website Review and Suggestions

After a move to a new domain and huge change to the way is managed, now running on a modified wordpress install, I have got the design of Apatheitc Rant the way I want it. But obviously, I want to know other people’s opinions on it, it’s all very well me liking it, but if everybody else hates it then it needs to be changed.

What I want advice on is the layout – the site is a webcomic blog so I have gone a slightly cartoony feel with the torn pages and the large header image. Is the layout easily navigable? I have asked a few friends and they have managed to get around the site without getting lost.

I’m not sure about the ordering of the things in the sidebar. Obviously the Comic Tags should be close to the top, but apart from that I’m not so sure. Perhaps have the RSS links higher?

Is the site visually appealing to you? Being a comic, the site is as much about how it looks as to the content in terms of first impressions.

Is there anything that would change if it were your site to manage? Also, does anyone have any tips for getting a few more hits?

i feel like the rss would make more sense near the "share this" on the right

i really like the proportions of the site. the only thing that i might change is the header seems a bit too long. i like it, esp the torn page, but its just a hair too long for me.

I am going to decrease the height of the header soon, not too much, just a little bit. I have changed the side bar and am going to make a few further changes too.

What do you mean by gadgets?

I like what I see. The site has a nice feel to it, and I especially like torn page look. The comics are pretty good too.

About the gadgets..... your site is word press based. What WP refers to as plugins like the calendar in the right column, Google calls gadgets.

You can personalize your Google home page with gagets for maps, calendar, horoscope etc. They've even figured out how to incorporate them into WP sites now.
