The harshest criticism is the best criticism! But since you asked, I won't be. Just kidding.

First and foremost, ouch. Having just got off work (10pm - 7am) being exposed to these ultra bright colors hurts my eyes. The main page isn't so bad, but once I get to the forum index, wooo! Watch out for that bright yellow.

Seeing as how it's brand new, I won't judge on the lack of content, but it's always ideal to have content at your main page AND community before going live. In my opinion anyways.

There aren't too many forum categories/sections, so that's a plus. A lot of new forum owners make the mistake of creating section after section making their community look really empty.

When I first visited the main page, nothing really stood out to me. You need something unique. Something your website has to offer that other football/American soccer websites/communities don't have. What's to keep me from going to an already established website? You know what I mean?

Lastly, but just as important as the other suggestions/comments, you need some personalization. If anything, just add a logo! Something visitors will remember you by...

It depends on what shade of black. Sometimes users get turned away to darker websites. I'll have to find this article about forum color themes. It was very interesting. But if it's not too much trouble to change, you might as well try it and see what everyone thinks.

Why not green?
Have a 100 yard grass setup in the header. Or a picture of a stadium.
That banner says nothing about the site your on.

He's referring to the header of your website, where it says "Footy Forum" and has your slogan.

Change the font color too. The light orange is not doing it for me or my eyes. It's tough to read.

That orange text on silver background is a little hard to read, especially the one on darker gray background...
