Website Review and Suggestions

We just complete the design of our web hosting directory. Please take a look at it and tell us what we need to do if need to improve the website design. The website is: http://findhostonline.com

To be quite honest, it doesn't do it for me. You have your menu to the left, then you have the same menu at the top of the page, only it takes up more room. Then you have all the Hot Topics, which also just seems to eat up space. I would remove the top menu view and the Hot Topics, and stick to the info without being redundant.

Thanks Capt Quirk. The menu on the left is from the script I am using, but you have a valid point. I will see how I can adjust it.

it looks ok... nothing to flashy. logo is to curvy and not easily read.

It's not bad. The links in the left menu look a bit generic, like part of a dot net nuke portal or something. I think the overall idea is good, I don't know how many hosting companies will list there site there though?

I think above all else - you logo should be clear and succint so that users know it is a hosting relate website.

Because of the niche directory you have chosen to enter, it needs to be extra professional looking.

I apologise for this - if I was looking for hosting, personally I would disappear from site very quckly as it is a professional service and professional reviews I would be going in search of.

You could look at some other hosting review websites and directories and maybe see how they do things!

Thank you everone for your input. vicdigi, I have to respectfully disagree with you. My site ia a directory listing. I do not provide the actual web hosting. People will come to my site looking for information on host. They are not looking to see how professional my site is. If I can provide the information they are looking for, I think that's all they need. However, they will look for a professional site within the hosting sites they found on my directory.
So again, this is information age we are living in. Look at Google site, it does not have all the bells and whistle, but peoople go there to find information. It is information baby, information not site. I agree with all the posters, my site has to look neat and clean, but what will be the purpose of my site if it is professional and not having any useful info?
Anyway, I appreciate all inputs, I truly do because no one is perfect. I have had great inputs in this thread. Thank you all.

i agree with many above...
your logo needs a better design. you can often post a job on
scriptlance and get a logo designed for $10-20 that will look more
professional on your site.

Over all the site looks ok and navigates well, but it didn't make me want
to sign up... i'd take a look at your competitor sites and try mimicing what
their doing

I have to thank everyone for their inputs. I am just getting repetitive comments. I am not getting anything new now. I will ask the mods to close this thread. I am not getting any new ideas. I am just getting comments like: I agree with xxx.
I see people saying..I can't signup on your site. Folks, I am offering free service and not a paid service. You don't pay for for it. I am not selling advertising but providing information.
Mod, please close this thread. I have got some good inputs from previous poster.
