Website Review and Suggestions

hi, can some one please review the anime site i made for a little entertainment for those who are board

i wouldn't believe that this is an anime site even though of it's title until i scroll down to see the vid's on it... maybe you could add a page for the list of anime's you've got.

The problem is that anybody who likes Anime will expect a website to reflect what Anime is, a lot of crazy "over-the-top" colours and expressions. Lots of emotion. But with your choices of colours they are dull and boring and won't really pull in someone who happens to stroll across it.

Also, i'd be tempted if i was you to move the intro text from the top of the first page onto either a seperate page or furthur down so the movies will be pushed up, so that the first thing the user see's in the intended content. You could have the latest video at the top and then the intro text, followed by the rest of the updates.

My biggest tip would be to chop up a few screenshots of those films and make a really attractive, colourful banner.

well it is nice that you have a tone of content. after all, the content is what brings in the traffic. but, like the others are saying, you must do something about the colors and the design. add header image with some anime characters, maybe put the intro text in that empty third column ( I'm not sure if that is a third column or just a blank margin ) so that way your video content is right at the top. also, look into some wordpress plugins that might help with your content arrangements. for a blog about anime videos, it isn't very easy to navigate when you have your content displayed in a blog style and you have to scroll down a lot. also, I see that the theme was designed by dosh dosh, ( I love that blog

) so I dunno if you are able to change the theme much, but look into those things. I do love the content though!

The best way to start would be to creat an anime banner portraying what anime is like one of those anime signatures you normally see in forums. You want something to grab peoples attention and show them what this website is all about. Hope this helps.

I think its design really needs more improvement. The design of the header looks too plain. Try to add some designs such as images of anime characters, to make it more convincing that this is an anime site.

I looked at your site before reading the reviews. I like to do this so I can make my own decisions. And I am sorry to say that I have to agree with what everyone else has said. The site needs work, but the concept is good. I know how hard it is to create your own site. I just re-created my own because the person I hired the first time wasn't as good as he liked to think he was. First thing you need to do is get a book or two on design and start fresh. I recomend this book:

Beginning HTML with CSS and XHtml by David Schultz and Craig Cook

It did wonders for me.
