Please review my website, www.GamersCommunity.net . It has been released 2 weeks ago and I need some tips on how to improve it.

First Impression

"I like everything below the header...and the black background actually clashes. Who knew?"

Design

The main page is brilliant. I love how clean it is, and I love Yoshi at the bottom. Very nice job. Here's my main riff. Let's start with the background: It doesn't match. I know black goes with everything, but there's just not enough of it in your design to use a black one. I would say, go for blue or green, depending on preference. Or heck, get a game sponsor and put an ad back there, gamespot style.

Now, the header could use some love. It just doesn't look as nice as the footer. I'm not a fan of the font. The graphic is cool, but not quite "there." Spend a little more time, I'm sure it will look awesome. Remember that you need to brand your stuff to grow. Right now you aren't.

Content

Nice grammar. Your about and information pages are all in tact, and that makes me happy. Now, just link gather. You have a limited amount. Perhaps provide links for free with recipricol? The price is extremely competitive. ($1/1 month? Sign me up, I've got twelve bucks!) Just work hard and I'm sure it will grow.

Would I Use It?

I don't have a game site, but if you make one for webmasters, hook me up.

Overall

The presentation is awesome, but fix up the header and choose a background that pulls the whole concept together. A little more work and you'll be fine!

Thanks a lot. My prices are low because I know that many webmasters out their don't have the money that many directory are asking for so thats why we offer free and very cheap prices.

I will work on a new header that has the same feel as the footer and will work on a background other than black.

Thanks for the review.

Nice job. Perhaps keep blinky (was the blue one blinky? Was there even a blinky at all?) and get rid of the flashing effect. It's throwing your image out of whack. But it looks awesome. I'd say you're officially good to go from my standpoint.

nice design, I like the stong primary/secondary color scheme.

You mught want to consider having a game guides/walkthroughs section for the xbox, ps3, wii - some sites do video walkthroughs youtube style - www.nextgenwalkthroughs.com

A few things you may want to change:

The menu on the upper lefthand side, the first thing I noticed is that menu which focuses on advertising and pricing. My advice is that should be at the very bottom. If someone wants to pay you money to be on your site, they will look ALL around for how to do that. For gamers, which I consider myself an avid gamer, its a real turn off to see it listed first.

Another small issue is the menu below the banner, you have home, add url, etc etc, I would capitolize the first word for all of them. Just would make it look better.

Other than the fact it has very little content, I would say its going in the right direction once it gets filled out.

the flashing pacman ghost and the way the rest of the figures in the title bar glow/blur/fade etc becomes a bit painful and yet hard to not look at once you spot it. maybe knock off the flashing, its not needed?
