Fellow design fanatics,

I'm a Stanford student, and have been working on a team to create a simple and sweet way of sharing documents and projects, and getting feedback.

We just launched www.getbackboard.com and I'd love to see what the design community thinks of our service.

Designers are a community that I'd love to impress, (or at least get feedback from), so please let me know what you think!

Cheers!

Phil

Well color me impressed. It looks like a mac app site (you know how those always look pretty? Like Coda? it looks like one of those...) Umm, the feedback typography (like here: http://www.getbackboard.com/view/MTA0MQ) is kind of...tiny and a little messy.

Feature-wise, one of your demo commentors was like, "what about interactivity?" so I gotta side with random-dude. How is your project sharing interactive? Or is it more like deviant art?

I was actually impressed. Very clean layout, not cluttered. The menu is simple, easy to understand.

The only other thing I would do, is make a video of backboard in action ON the front page. People are more likely to want to see it in action than just seeing something static. A short 1 min video of the overall concepts and seeing it in action would be a big hit.

Hey Guys,

Wow, thanks for all of the feedback and comments/complimnets!

Sneakyheathen: concerning your question about how we're different than deviantart: The core difference between us and them is that we offer a level of privacy that they can't. If you want to share your work with only a select group of individuals, you can do it on Backboard. As for functionality, at this point we're striving to keep the site simple and fast. More bells and whilstles are certainly to come as we roll out premium versions of the service.

We've been focusing on enhanced power and functionality, and I'm really excited about this release. Some of our new features include: document markup, multiple versions, enhanced security, full email integration, and a desktop droplet.

What do you think? Backboard

Thanks.

Very clean and impressive design and layout, I would run it through a validation just to make sure you don't have any errors.
