i loaded the site today from work, i see how its slow now  i might try to see if i can preload/download all the images from the about me page somehow, since it will be alot smaller and most likely the home page
jyale - im really focusing on this portfolio right now, once completed im surely going to be going after clients. but I have so much on my plate, I have about 3 'for fun' personal sites I still want to complete after this as well (i started on them and then got bored with the idea). so im really trying to stay focused, all of your comments help so much
i might try to define the color scheme a little more before proceeding to other sections
