The logo needs a complete redo. It looks extremely dated. It also shouldn't take the whole banner . . .and can also include a symbol.

Other text and animations makes this site look like it's stuck in the 1990s. If you modernize those you will have a greater advantage.

The layout is fine.

First Glance
Whats up with your welcome paragraph? Its a bunch of text that I am not going to read. You have to make it appealing for the viewer. Draw them in and make them want to read more. If you could add some padding around the paragraph (so that its not touching the border) that could help a little.

Also, what is your website about? Try communicating that a little bit more.

Menus
Your menus/navigations are tiny. Those things are key and should somehow stand out a little bit more.

Graphics
Like before, new banner. Also, the random crazy graphics throughout your posts aren't working. They don't fit your design scheme plus they aren't so great to start with, no offense. (Skinny1 alluded to that)
