Hi folks

I've just got round to redesigning my web design website after two years of the old one (it was one of my first and I wasn't proud of it!):

www.webr.co.uk

I'm quite pleased with how it's looking, though I welcome any constructive criticism.

I'm mainly after ideas of things to fill in the right column on the about and contact pages, and something to replace the dodgy looking map image on the homepage.

Looking forward to your comments!

That's looking really good! Better than anything I could do!

One thing, you should make your blog's RSS feed available from the homepage of your site as well as on the blog page... perhaps on all pages.

Add
HTML Code:
<link rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml" title="Webr Blog RSS Feed" href="http://www.webr.co.uk/blog/feed" />
to your homepage. Then it'll be perfect.

You might also like to look into Feedburner if you wanted to offer things like chicklets and email updates. It's free.

Thanks for the positive feedback!

MrTom, I agree I'll be adding more about my services on my homepage and hopefully get some regular posts going onto the blog section.

TooManyTriangle, good idea I didn't think of that. Will definitely work on the RSS side of things over the coming days...

Nice looking site!

Once thing I would suggest though, would be a contact phone number and mailing address: Always helps to etablish that you are a real person not just a site.

If you can't put your own address on there, there should be loads of virtual offices in your area that you can use for post and even take phone calls for you.

Great site, nice to see that you stick to web standards - yes I did check your own site and the ones you show case.

One thing I noticed that you say that you may be available for work on projects anywhere. I think you should be more positive, don't say may, change this to I am available....

Good luck.

I agree with more contact choices. Also, I think a portfolio should include more than 2. I'd put at least 5 and if you have only 5 say something like a few sample sites... Even if you're inexperienced you should try to look experienced. If you need more sites for the portfolio, make some samples or look around here in the forum and do work for very cheap just to get the experience (and the "designed by" back link).

You can tell a web designer owns this page as soon as you enter... Good job! It conveys the message VERY well.
