Hello thar.

I recently saw the forum promotion thread, thought it was great! But that's not why I'm asking you to review it.

I started a forum just for sh!ts and giggles, but I want it to become serious and get more members. Firstly I want a nice design of it.

My theme is called Simple Black, a very clean layout, in my opinion. Could you see any problems and/or things that could be better? I really need help designing the forum the right way, as this is my first forum.

TLDR (Too long, didn't read): What can I do better? What can I safely remove?

I really want a stylish and minimalistic layout that has everything the user needs, and I want the most important links to to be clearly visible. I want to reduce my bounce rate.

Being a GAME site--- use game related colors... right now thats white, black and green

white=wii
black=ps3pspetc
green=duh xbox

Well actually, I have another theme that I missed out to show: http://www.madidusworks.net/?styleid=5. The board has moved away from blizzard.. I realized there's too many of those kind of boards. It's now a literature board now-adays.

You may tri to enhance the header, you have a lot of unused space and the main site title is too... discreet =)

Thanks! I'm currently designing a 970 * 250px banner for the Simple black theme. I'm browsing around for backgrounds for my forum too. I'm thinking something Web 2.0-ish or just diagonals or something...

What color scheme would you like to see on simple black(ie the background)? I'll base everything on the background colors.
