Website Review and Suggestions

Please look at http://suzziesportfolio.freehostia.com and let me know what you think. It is a site that I did for my mom to show case her photography. I still need to fix the valid css and xhtml on the gallery page. Other then that I am open to suggestions.

I think it looks nice. One thing I think you could do that would make it even nicer would be to change the drop down list for the categories to be something more graphical that blends into the page more. For example, when you click on the gallery link you could have tiles that represent each catgory with a picture and the name of the category on it. And then to get to a category you click on it to choose it.

A nice looking site, but the thumbnails take an age to load using a 2Mbs broadband connection.

Nice and simple, the way I like it :-)

Just 3 things

1. Perhaps have a photo of the blogger so we know who is behind the blog.
2. When I click on Gallery I see a dropdown list. But it would be nice if there was
some default image/gallery already there to capture my attention.
3. Perhaps use more vibrant colours :-)

I think it over all you have alot of great features. It is a bit boring but, you made it for your mom and maybe thats just a style your mom likes. Simple and direct.

It looks really great, simple.. and to the point.. although I would have made it wider and maybe included a little more information.

You could also include maybe a little preview of her photography on the homepage?

agreed that you should show photography on the homepage. this is a photographers portfolio and the first thing i see is a block of text that i dont want to read!

bigger photos in the gallery. and dont use the pulldown to navigate the sections of work. clean and clear links and bigger images for sure! nice start!

Yeah I would definitely replace the dropdown on the gallery page with some thumbnails or something visual to represent each gallery .. other than nice very nice job

only think I can say is the background looks a bit bland? Maybe try a pattern background?

Color effect is looking not so attactive.
