Hi Everyone,

I am putting myself out there and asking for reviews. The owner picked the color and trust me I had to talk him out of bright green to bright yellow gradient. He is stuck on the color as he read of a study that this color and hues of it relax the user.

The site can be navigated with the tab key even with javascript. If javascript is not enabled the information is viewable on the site. Hover over the pictures to the right of the navigation.

I am waiting for content and some new photos. I don't have any of the head things done such as meta tags. I will improve the headings after the content is given to me. And I think I need to find a way to style the content if javascript is not enabled.

So, that is where I'm at. Good, bad or ugly. I've had some strong opinions all ways so far and I think I can take it.

Thank you in advance!

I just read over your post and given the information you presented it sounds like you didnt have alot of say. That typical however when dealing with a client. Even if you know in your heart its a web design no no in the end they are paying your bills. It looks good over all. It will be interesting to see all the images and content the client gives you. You did a nice job in the coding process however, you might want to title the pages on the website <title>Untitled Document</title>. It's always a nice helpful way to let people know what page they are currently viewing. I wish you the best of luck.

*Side Note: Hang in there. Clients can be frustrating but I assure you in the end its all worth it.

You read me exactly. I've been having a hard time with this and this is my first real client starting the site from scratch. My friend and I did one together but we had a ton of say on design and placement and we are now going back for updates:
http://thegenesiscenter.net/
LadynRed gave me much guidance on both sites also!!!

Thank you for your compliments. I do need to tighten up the code as I have a ton of repeating code and I can get it into shorthand. Yes, the titles still need to be done. I'm just waiting for him to either go with the page titles or change them. LOL.. as soon as I do something it seems he has a change.

My other friend heard the frustration in my voice over the phone and is coming up with Requirement Documents and Design Documents. She is in this line of work for a living and feels she can help me out. Get everything electronically signed off on.. that is my goal.

Thanks again for the review.

It looks too rigid. I would make the edges more round. I wouldn't put an image of the store since it looks kind of run down.

Overall, the design is nice and simple. However it does have the feel of being pieced together... I would extend the left column the height of the page. The picture of the building wouldn't feel so out of place if was the whole width of the header... Also, a slight gradient behind the content would pull things together a little bit more. And, the footer links should probably be white.

Your code looks clean... if you tidy the page up a little, I think it could be a great site.

I know the feeling of being limited by a client... The most annoying ones are the ones who wont listen to your suggestions as a professional.. when you are only trying to make their site better.... they think they know best.. but the rule is "The customer is always right". Clients are the hardest part of a web design! lol Just don't let them break you down...

Here is a site I like to read through every now and then... there is alot of helpful information on design concepts, accessability and such... might help.
