I like the overall look you have created.
There are a few things I consider would improve your site:-
i) Shorten your home page, a lot of people are put off by having to scroll as far as this.
ii) Ammend your font size to a relative size from your present absolute size, there is no way for users to adjust the size to suit themselves.
iii)As I think the left hand part of your home page is the most important I would consider making the right side less dominant.
iv)I found it confusing that in the blue box at the top of the right column the little butterfly graphic changed on mouseover but was not part of a link.
