The actual layout of this is fantastic defcon, but your page has problems that lie much deeper.
It's mainly the font choices and the logo for me. The color scheme really isn't bad, it's just so simple. Not a problem with that, you just won't get as much in terms of design points. Though you really don't need them when it comes to a social network site because after all, you're going for access speed and usability.
To start, I find the sizing of the fonts and style to be unbearable, but usable. I can see you tried to target some parts of your site for users to look at more-so than others, but still... you could mix it up with some new font familys or some bold text or something. Heck, maybe I just hate Arial. The site's usable, I just hate that font, haha.
Second, the logo. There's nothing redeeming about it. Especially if you're aiming at an "art" social-network. You need something artistic that portrays who you are, but simple.
'nuff said.
