This is a little premature. Only the design is mostly done. The content and wording has to be added. However, I need some first reaction opinions.

Thank you.

First reaction? Jesus christ, that's a lot of 'effing orange. Try to work that logo blue in a bit more or some more shades of orange. If you not feeling risky or don't want as much orange, try some shades of black and/or white.

Also, I know it's a web development/design site and it should look cool and all, but the clouds and sun rays just don't work for me. When a person looking for some design/development comes a knocking, they may think it looks cool... but only after the orange blinds them and they tend to think the clouds look pretty.

Oh, bonus. Wow. Just noticed the little search/info. thingy... that's pretty rad actually. Keep that, it works well. Add help next to it or something though.

I agree. Orange doesn't quite cut it for me either. It could easily look like some messy personal myspace site, or some sort of kids site.

Yep. Same as the others - too much orange.

Try a white background with the page sticking out as orange shadowing onto the white background.

The popup info boxes (search icon, change colours) are really good as are the ajax info boxes.

One other suggestion. Can you put a fixed height in for the info boxes? Each time a new tab is clicked the silhoutte sklyine jumps up and down: looks like an earthquake.

I'm gonna get murdered for this, probably, but you can totally go all orange. You're not looking for other colors, dude, you're looking for SHADES. Using some darker and lighter variations of orange could actually end up being visually contrasting enough to work. But ask yourself: Are you good enough to attempt it? :P

Also, remember that your logo/header encompasses all (if not most) of your color scheme so you can always use those colors. Such as the light blue; it could be used for links. I would highly suggest lightening the main "page" background by a level.

I would cut back on the orange. Maybe just adjust the shades of orange as someone else mentioned. I think the tabs don't match the rest of the design. I'm not really sure what I would do different with them, maybe do something to make them more noticable. Looks good though ~John

I agree with the other in that there's too much orange. Try adding a little more white.

My other concern is about your AJAX. Though AJAX is great, a lot of people impulsively go to the "back" button to go back to the previous tab, which takes them back to the previous page. There's one way to correct this, but I've haven't found out how to implement it (it involves linking to a new section of the page using #). Also makes bookmarking more annoying.

"Maybe" too much orange?

Again, I would have the content made first, and then I would design the layout around the content... there's definitely room for improvement...

Wow,

I really can not believe that no one likes it. Everyone always asks for something different but I guess it is too different for you guys.

I know it is very orange, but the colors match and were very carefully selected from a palate.

However, I do appreciate the honest opinions.

Thank you very much.

The orange is good, but the text/accent color needs to be white or something not at all orange.

The website does not fit into a standard 1024x768 sized monitor. Most people will have to scroll to see your page--very annoying.

You are using XHTML doctype but it does not validate. Please make sure that it is at least passing the validator check. Also, you may or may not know that Internet Explorer can not display XHTML. You have to tell your server to serve the XHTML as text/HTML to IE, thus IE is just getting HTML that is broken (because it's XHTML format). You would be better off using HTML unless you have a specific reason for using XHTML (such as advocacy). For more information see here: http://www.webdevout.net/articles/beware-of-xhtml

I think that this site could look really cool if you made the area around the main content area black. I dont' think you should design two seperate versions of it in green and blue, as seems to be your intent based on the little guys at the bottom.

Nice use of AJAX and DHTML techniques. You should consider putting some indicator on the top tabs and left links so that the user knows what is currently being displayed.

Design is in the details. Spend more time polishing up all the little spacings and padding so they look really nice.

Let me see, if I turn my laptop up toward my mouth, what would I taste?

A. Orange Gatorade
B. Orange Soda
C. Orange Juice
D. None of the above

Answer: To be determined...When my computer understands that terminology

On a serious note, give it a shot, what do I know?

Have Fun!
