Website Review and Suggestions

I have worked really hard on my personal homepage over the past week or so! i love how it looks and the way the layout is. but the only problem is that i dont know what to put on the blank area located in the left hand side of my " HOME " page, any ideas????? thats all i need is one single idea and it will be complete!

Dang,

Sometimes less is more. A lot of great designs use a large amount of white space. If there is a way to structure your layout properly without adding content/elements for the sake of it, then there's nothing wrong with leaving it blank.

leave it blank! on the web less is way more! i have been a web developer for some years now and beleive it or not i have had a very successful client who shot down some very cool templates i proposed to him...finally i approached him with the simplest html template i could create! he loved it...and beleive it or not his site is very successful! so it just goes to show that alot of the web users out ther are not adapting to the advanced graphics and layouts of todays fast growing internet world!

the site looks really neat as in the present... but if u really push to put in something on the left side.. just put a banner... or may be write title.. of ur site in bold letters..

Yes, leave it blank. With the navigation on top, there's no problem with whitespace.

Another issue is that you may want to specify a max-width for your container div. The reason is that some people have widescreen monitors (1440x900 px+) and really wide rows of text becomes difficult to read after a while. Consider upping the readability of your one column by making the lines smaller. This may seem a little awkward putting even more whitespace at the edges of your pages, but I think that it improves readbillity drastically.

Oh man. First and most importantly, do as yerich said and limit the main container. The text is going from the complete left of my screen to the right and it's a total pain to read.

Then we'll start talking, haha.

Leave it blank for now, if you want to you can add some ads later

If you don't want it to be blank, just get your page on the middle and get rid of the side area.

you definitely could use an improvement in terms of design... as for the left side you could put your contact info... price ranges, popular posts... things like that

Why don't you break your posts up into two columns so I don't have to read side to side?

Or you could make your design a fixed-width?
