Website Review and Suggestions

I have recently completed http://Christian-Jokes.net ... I have hand coded everything from the design to the script.
What do you guys think of it ?

The design is very simple, which is ok. However, Im not liking the grey box at the top that contains your buttons and search box.. I think it would look better if it was the same color as the background.

Also, you have a few errors in your code:

Other than that, the site looks good.

You have a lot of empty space above the header. (I am on IE 7)

Otherwise design is simple and clean.
You should probably ad some funny illustrations, pictures etc.

I will experiment with the background color.
I will try to fix the XHTML errors and hope to make it XHTML and CSS compliant

I am keeping the empty spaces for CPM/CPD ads.
I do like to add funny pictures but I am not sure whether I will run into copyright problems
