Website Review and Suggestions

Dear Forum,

I would really appreciate some feedback on the new site we are building here

Basically I wanted to know if people understood what the idea of the site is - and if you didn't any suggestions on what we need to do to improve the explanation of the purpose of the site to the user.

I won't say what it is as that would defeat the object!

Also any feed back of the general layout might be great if you have the time.

Hello David,

I played the game, I went onto the website, started looking around, counted 10 secs and didn't exactly figure out what the site was about. At that point, a regular user would be leaving... I strongly suggest that you put the purpose of your site in the center, where the focus of the user is. Of course, that's if you want the user to stay on your site and possibly come back. If you want to get advertisement money, than simply put ads in the middle :-)

Seriously, the interface is not bad, the logo either. Like you mentioned yourself, the biggest problem is the purpose of the website. You need to take the user by their hand. They should know in a matter of seconds "Why am I here?"

Suggestions:

1. Show me a screen shot of what I'd be installing on my system.
2. Tell me what this service does? "Pull news to your desktop." Don't get me wrong, I figured it out after working at it for a bit, but you really need to make this as simple for your users as possible.
3. Your video talks about your service.. but it takes to long to get to the punchline. I'd suggest you also explain that somewhere on the homepage. Encourage me to do this, by telling me what I'll get as a result. At the moment, I'm still asking.. what's this going to look like on my computer.

you need to have some content to tell what your site is about. no one will digg like a dog for a the content, make it cleare

Your website looks pretty good overall. I'm not a fan of the color scheme you decided to go with. I like the Adobe Captive flash tutorial you have on your website but, its a bit cheesy. Best of luck to you and your website.

The blend of color scheme and design is really not that good and the logo does not match the site itself. and the site is hard to figure out what is it about!

I also noticed that the CLOSE button for your video doesn't work on Google Chrome...
