Website Review and Suggestions

Please give me your comments and opinions on THIS SITE overhaul.

It is for an adult video production service, but it is not porn and contains no nudity.

Pick it apart!

Tell me what you like about it.

Tell me what you don't like about it.

Please be honest so I can continue to work on my design skills. This is also my first attempt at utilizing an external style sheet.

No bad, Loading and function work great. It does not stand out very much from others but I guess not much does these days. background is ok but a little to simple for me but thats just personal opinion

Hello,

I really don't like that fact you didn't change the a:link to anything besides the standard blue. Also, none of your pages are working so its hard for me to really post what I feel about the site.

The background image you selected (http://creativevp.com/backup/images/bkgrd.jpg) is not working for your design at all. It's extremely distracting and your background image shouldn't take the viewers eye of the main attracting - in this case the website. You stated this website is not porn related but I get the impression it is. Needs alot of work. Best of luck to you.

I agree with the-pixel up there. I don't mind the service you're offering (someones gotta do it!) but the overhaul needs an overhaul. Background images, div tags, and external style sheets aren't gonna cut it in the Web 2.0 world unfortunately.
If you want to learn more I would suggest finding a free site template online and using that to fiddle with code and learn along the way. That way, you have a nice looking site from the start and are still learning how write the code yourself. Creating this from scratch will take much longer and cause more frustration than anyone could ever want.

Thanks for your input. I will make some changes to the background as well as the link colors.

And just FYI, this site does not offer nude images or adult movies or toys. I guess the definition of "porn" varies as widely as the web. This site offers nothing more than a private, discrete service intended for adults over the age of 18. Thus the warning of an adult nature, but this is not even remotely close to a traditional porn site. While it may be risque and not everyone's cup of tea, this is far from being pornographic.

And finally, can someone explain to me what web 2.0 is exactly? Is this the new standard for web design and/or development? Where can I go to learn more about this in terms that an old fart can understand?

Here is a link to Wikipedia's definition of Web 2.0. It's pretty detailed with a lot of viewpoints: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_2.0.

Also, if you Google "Web 2.0 best sites" you'll get tons of lists of sites that supposedly meet the web 2.0 standard.

Keep in mind though that Web 2.0 is not a universally understood standard. Meaning, many different people have many different opinions about what exactly it means. Once you see some examples though, you'll probably get the gist of it and be able to design something similar.

the only thing i can pick apart is the grey color, and the grid/tile looking background. Looks too 1996 to me. Oh and the bottom footer is covering up some text on my screen.

Love the logo and everything else!

The template does not look professional I agree with what has been said thus far, I think the site would look better if you got a professional template.
