layout looks ok. My suggestion is.

The blue highlight box looks disturbing. Maybe your can replace with other colors. and the size should be same height with the picture.

Maybe i think you need to standardize your theme color. The pictures is greenish and yellowish. Use photoshop to adjust it and it may look nicer.

Yeh the blue is a bit bright for my liking also. And the square, 90 degree, corners dont suit, i would suggest rounding them a little.

When you hover over the Titles in the blue box the mouse changes as though they are seperate links, but it doesnt do anything when clicked.

The layout and design isn't bad but I think the color scheme could be improved I think there is too much white on the page you should implement another color into the design.
